Kepta Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2026-08-07
App: Kepta
Kepta (“the app”, “we”) is a receipt and warranty tracker for iOS, developed and operated by Dmytro Havrylenko, Ukraine (“the developer”). This policy explains what data the app handles, where it lives, and what — if anything — leaves your device.
The short version: Kepta has no user accounts, no advertising, no analytics, and no tracking. Your receipts and items stay on your device (and in your personal iCloud, if you enable backup). The only data that ever leaves your device is what’s required to operate your subscription.
1. Data that stays on your device
- Receipt photos and scans. Photos you capture or import are stored locally on your device. Text recognition (reading the item name, price, date and warranty details from a receipt) happens entirely on-device using Apple’s Vision framework. Receipt images and their contents are never uploaded to us or to any third party.
- Items, prices, warranty timers, reminders. Everything you save in Kepta is stored in a local database on your device.
- Local notifications. Reminders before a return window or warranty ends are scheduled locally through iOS. There is no push-notification server.
2. iCloud backup (optional)
If you turn on iCloud backup in Settings, your Kepta data is stored in your personal iCloud account using Apple’s infrastructure and Apple’s encryption. It syncs between your own devices signed into the same Apple Account. The developer has no access to your iCloud data. You can turn this off at any time in the app’s Settings; Apple’s iCloud terms and privacy policy apply to that storage.
3. Subscriptions and purchases
Kepta offers auto-renewable subscriptions billed through your Apple Account via the App Store. Payment is handled entirely by Apple — we never see your name, payment details, or Apple ID.
To validate purchases and keep your subscription status up to date, we use RevenueCat, Inc. as a service provider. When you use the app, RevenueCat receives:
- your App Store purchase receipt,
- a randomly generated anonymous identifier for your app installation, and
- your IP address (as part of any network request).
This data is used solely to operate your subscription — activation, renewal, restoring purchases, and processing refunds. It is not linked to your identity (Kepta has no accounts) and is not used for tracking or advertising. RevenueCat’s privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy/
4. Permissions the app asks for
- Camera — only to scan receipts when you tap the scan button.
- Photo library — only to let you pick an existing receipt photo. Kepta uses Apple’s picker, which shares only the photos you explicitly select.
- Notifications — only to deliver the local reminders you set up.
Each permission is optional and requested only when the corresponding feature is used.
5. What we don’t do
- No user accounts, sign-ins, or profiles.
- No third-party analytics, crash reporters, or advertising SDKs.
- No sale or sharing of personal data with anyone, for any purpose.
- No tracking across apps or websites (no IDFA, no fingerprinting).
6. Data retention and deletion
All app data lives on your device (and in your iCloud, if enabled). Deleting an item deletes it from your device; deleting the app removes all local data. You can also export everything (ZIP/PDF) or wipe all data from the app’s Settings at any time. Subscription records held by Apple and RevenueCat are retained according to their respective policies; the anonymous RevenueCat identifier is deleted when you delete the app and is not reused.
7. Your rights
Because Kepta does not collect personal data linked to you, most data-subject requests (access, correction, deletion) can be fulfilled directly on your device using the export and wipe tools in Settings. If you believe we hold any personal data about you, or you have any privacy question, contact us at the address below and we will respond within 30 days. EU/EEA and UK users: the processing described in section 3 is necessary for the performance of the subscription contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
8. Children
Kepta is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction) and does not knowingly collect data from them.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the effective date. If a change meaningfully affects how subscription data is handled, we will highlight it in the app’s release notes.
