This Privacy Policy explains how Swapsy (com.neirno.Swapsy) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the application.

2. Information We Collect

Swapsy does not require registration, user accounts, or email addresses. We do not operate our own servers and do not store your personal data on any backend.

2.1 Internet Access (Currency Rate APIs)

Swapsy connects to third-party currency exchange rate APIs to fetch live rates. These network requests do not include any authentication tokens, personal data, or PII. Only the requested currency pair is sent in the query.

2.2 Analytics Data (Firebase Analytics)

We collect anonymous usage events (e.g., screen views, popular conversions) through Firebase Analytics. This data does not include personally identifiable information (PII) and helps us understand how the app is used.

2.3 Crash Reports (Firebase Crashlytics)

We collect crash logs through Firebase Crashlytics, including device model, OS version, stack traces, and app state at the time of the crash. This data is used solely to identify and fix bugs.

2.4 Advertising Data (Google AdMob)

Swapsy displays ads via Google AdMob. AdMob may collect:

  • Advertising identifier (IDFA) — only if you grant permission via App Tracking Transparency (ATT)
  • IP address and device information for ad delivery, frequency capping, and fraud prevention

If you decline the ATT prompt, you will see non-personalized ads.

2.5 Subscription Data (RevenueCat)

Swapsy offers subscriptions managed through RevenueCat. RevenueCat processes:

  • Anonymous app user ID
  • Purchase receipts and subscription status

We do not receive or store your payment card details. All payments are processed by Apple.

2.6 What Swapsy Does NOT Access

Swapsy does not access your camera, photo library, contacts, location, microphone, or any other device sensors beyond what is listed above.

3. How We Use Information

  • Currency conversion: to fetch and display up-to-date exchange rates from third-party APIs
  • Analytics: to understand which conversions are popular and improve the app
  • Crash reporting: to identify and fix bugs
  • Advertising: to display ads and measure ad performance
  • Subscriptions: to verify purchases and unlock premium features (e.g., ad-free experience, additional currencies)

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services, each operating under their own privacy policies:

5. IDFA and App Tracking Transparency

Swapsy requests permission via Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework before accessing the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA). This identifier is used by AdMob to deliver personalized ads.

  • If you allow tracking: AdMob may use IDFA for personalized ad delivery.
  • If you decline tracking: you will receive non-personalized ads only.

You can change your choice at any time: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

6. Data Storage

  • All user preferences (favorite units, recent conversions) are stored locally on your device.
  • We do not operate servers and do not store personal data remotely.
  • Third-party partners (Firebase, AdMob, RevenueCat) may process data on their own infrastructure according to their respective privacy policies.

7. Your Rights

GDPR (EEA/UK residents)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we process about you
  • Rectification of inaccurate data
  • Erasure (“right to be forgotten”)
  • Restrict processing
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests
  • Data portability

CCPA (California residents)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information is collected
  • Delete your personal information
  • Opt-out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal data)
  • Non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights

Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data from your device.

8. Children’s Privacy

Swapsy is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under the minimum age required by applicable local law). If you believe a child has provided personal data, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

9. International Data Transfers

We do not operate our own servers. Our third-party partners may process data in various jurisdictions (including the EU and US) under their own policies and appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses).

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version with an updated “Effective Date” at the top. For material changes, we may also display an in-app notice.
